by Bailey, Frankie Y Certain unresolved family background issues can follow and haunt you like a shadow. Just ask university professor and crime historian Lizzie Stuart. She has never known her own mother, Becca, and that gnaws at her when she considers some pressing and possible life changes -including the future with her beau John Quinn. So to find closure, Lizzie follows up the investigation of an associate of Quinn's in Chicago to find Becca. The initial trip doesn't pay off but Becca's involvement with a local mobster and a Black Panther member, both who have died years earlier, clouds and infuses the investigation with genuine danger. Interesting characters and changing locales ? the story ends in New Orleans - propel this family matter into a mysterious and intense adventure story. - reviewed by Lawrence, South County Regional, PLCMC {mosgoogle}
