As most parents know, reading skills are critical for preschool learning and childhood development. Studies have shown that children that are diagnosed with reading problems during their early school years, will continue having reading and learning problems through the 9th grade and beyond. Even more troubling, almost 50 percent of adolescents and young people with criminal records have reading difficulties. |

Reading a book from which a movie is made is almost always a richer experience than simply watching the movie. The experience of savoring the words on the page and allowing yourself to be taken on a journey inspired by the author is sublime. As the author paints a picture with words, your imagination fills in the blanks until the voices of the characters and the images of the settings resonate in your mind. |

Since the beginning of time stories were written and told. Stories and happenings were first written on walls as hieroglyphics and on cement tablets. Most early stories were non-fiction and told the story of what life was like way back when. As time developed so did reading and stories. Books were written for more pleasurable entertainment. Hans Christian Anderson wrote the some of the most famous Children's, books. |

In this day and age the neighborhood book store has been pushed to the back burner. It is hard to compete with the other places that sell books. There are so many places to get books. There are big book superstores that can offer discounts and other specials to draw customers in. |
